Kowallabe Quartzite is a newly mined quartzite from Australia with a hardness of about 5 to 6. It featuresĀ translucent sections of white and grey with pink banding and patterning, but also has opaque portions with earthy tones of black, green, and orange, and flashes of golden yellow commonly along the edges. Overall, the patterning is very dramatic, andĀ it can be cut either with the formational banding or against, resulting in very different patterns on the cut edge.Ā
